We did show the waistcoats at exhibitions and the picture of our lovely model Alex shows it worn with a rich velvet coat entitled Angel Coat and a pair of velvet trousers. It became too complicated to make these pieces because we had too many variations in colours and prints and to dye and print enough fabric for one piece was out of proportion to the price we might get. The idea of lovely evening waistcoats really appealed to us, but not one easy to do with the specialist skills that we had developed with the hand pleating and the velvet work.
